However, as Harvey and Val are a few sandwiches short of a picnic, obsessed with toads, masturbation and cleanliness, it may be some time before Benjamin gets to go anywhere... PAULINE: Restart officer Pauline refuses to let thick as two short planks Mickey "Love" go to an interview for a job as a fireman, saying they won't let a monkey drive a fire engine. He is dismayed and reluctantly stays, despite urges from fellow restarter Ross Gaines to go anyway. LOCAL SHOP: Benjamin's hapless friend Martin turns up at the Local Shop, where he encounters bizarre pig-faced proprietors Tubbs and Edward, who promptly dispose of him and later the policeman who comes looking for him. They are anxious to be free of strangers - a problem since a new road is being planned in the area. GEOFF, MIKE & BRIAN: Humour poses a problem for the three friends, with nobody else but Mike getting his "bummers are deaf" joke, and then Geoff going psycho over the "Mau Mau" joke and threatening to shoot Mike in the head. CHINNERY: Dr Chinnery, the useless vet, visits Farmer Tinsel to put down his sick dog, at his request. Unfortunately, he puts down Tinsel's pride and joy by mistake. BARBARA: Benjamin gets picked up from the train station by cab driver Barbara Dixon, who horrifies him by "her" tales of "her" forthcoming sex change operation (ie she's presently still a man).
