GEOFF: There's cutbacks at the factory, and someone has to be let go. Unfortunately for Geoff, it's him who gets fired and not Brian. He angrily announces to Mike that it's okay, he's going to move to London and pursue his dream of becoming a stand-up comic. He gets a gig doing his act in the pub of his old friend Don Lynch, and does his thing in front of ad director Jed Hunter, but it's a disaster and he gets booed off stage. Options running out, he needs money fast, and is too proud to take Mike's offer of returning to his job in Royston Vasey. Don offers him fifty quid to pick up a car for him. He does it, then it turns out the car has been used to blow up buildings in the city. Panicking, he steals Legz Akimbo's van from the street and roars back home, calling Mike to ask if he can have his job back after all. Not watching where he is going, he drives into Lance, and crashes the van through the wall of the Windermere B&B. He's rescued from the rubble alive, but the paramedics tell Mike he will be unrecognizable due to severe facial injuries. Geoff seems quite pleased at this thought.

LEGZ AKIMBO: In London, Legz Akimbo are rehearsing their new production, "Vegetable Soup", a (not-so) sensitive look at the disabled. Ollie wants Phil and Dave to do an extended improv, where Dave is deafblind (all one word) and Phil has polio and has to be taken around in a shopping trolley. They're less than keen. Phil meets his friend Tish, fag hag extraordinaire, in Camden Market for lunch but quickly tires of her. The improv goes ahead: Dave has to order a cake in a shop despite being deaf, blind and mute, while Phil lies on the pavement outside yelling at passers-by. Ollie's usual insensitive manner ends in him getting a beating from a man in the street, and later the group's van is stolen by Geoff Tipps.
