Simon, Sam and Nell are all sorry to hear that Liz will be leaving the Eye-catchers firm to pursue her acting career now that she has landed an acting job for a commercial in Tenerife. Derek, however, is relieved as he always had doubts about her abilities as a secretary. Liz's position is filled quickly by an old school friend of Nell's called Winifred who has come to stay with her after the collapse in her marriage. Simon is pleased with her work but is depressed by her solemn outlook.

Liz arrives back in the office to say that her acting job involved too much personal attention from the Director. She wants her job back but Simon has already given it to Winifred. They then plot a way to get rid of Winifred by contacting her husband, who runs a double glazing firm, to come to the office and give them a quote for their windows. When he turns up and sees Winifred their emotions overcome them and they are reconciled. Winifred goes home with him and Liz gets her job back. Simon then gets a very high quote for double-glazing in the office.
