Her Death Was So SuddenEpisode 8 of Season 1 of "Moon and Son" Writer: Robert Banks Stewart Director: Paul Harrison Show Stars: Millicent Martin (Gladys Moon), John Michie (Trevor Moon), Patrick Drury (Maurice Sardou), Laure Killing (Cecile Coulmier), Ian Redmond (Joe Eavis) Gladys befriends returning honeymooners Ray and Lorna, who are concerned about a man they met in Venice who has subsequently disappeared. They give her a videotape containing footage of their mysterious friend, but shortly afterwards Lorna confronts men searching her luggage on the Orient Express and when she runs away from them she falls from the train and is killed. Soon after this Trevor finds three men ransacking the 'Visions' horsebox, as a result of which he returns the tape to Ray and they watch it together. Trevor recognises the man on the tape as one of the three burglars, but when he informs Eavis of this the police officer reveals that the three are in fact Special Branch men who had been escorting a Mafia informant to England. Insultingly, they 'apologise' for the accidental death of Lorna. Gladys is deceived into working for an Italian businessman who in fact kidnaps her, although she takes it very calmly and ends up doing tarot readings for the kidnappers. Trevor brings in the police and between them they locate the businessman's house and an armed stand-off follows in which Gladys plays for time by faking a haunting. The supposedly supernatural events which ensue panic the kidnappers, who are soon arrested by the local police.
