Case Closed

First Aired in 2004

A junior at Titan High School, Jimmy Kudo is no ordinary teenager. Jimmy has developed a celebrity status as a world-class detective, solving crimes that leave the city's top law enforcement officials stumped and the nation cheering. One day, while at an amusement park with his girlfriend, Rachel Moore, Jimmy unwittingly finds himself at the scene of a sinister crime. Undaunted by the severity of the situation, Jimmy employs his keen deductive powers to skillfully locate the trail of the suspects. However, just as Jimmy stands poised to solve the case, he is captured by two members of a mysterious organization that operate under the darkest veil of corruption. In an effort to permanently silence the young detective, these shadowy men force Jimmy to drink a newly developed poison. One that "can't be detected in an autopsy". Miraculously, Jimmy escapes death, only to find that the toxin has reduced his 17-year-old body to the size of a 2nd grader! Distraught about his pint-sized appearance, Jimmy resolves to discover the whereabouts of these evil perpetrators. He enlists the help of his eccentric neighbor, a scientist and an inventor named Dr. Agasa. Dr. Agasa's first suggestion is that Jimmy keep his identity secret, even from his girlfriend Rachel, fearing that if anyone found out, the dangerous killers would certainly come back. The doctor's second suggestion isn't as easy – to live with Richard Moore, a washed up private detective that also happens to be his girlfriend's father! Disguising his true identity by adopting the name "Conan Edogawa", Jimmy begins a series of intricate cases, cracking puzzling and sinister crimes, in a quest to unravel the secrets behind his attack and the poison that shrunk him.

Case Closed is also known as Meitantei Conan (Japanese) -n- Detective Conan :]

WITH A KEEN EYE FOR DETAILS, ONE TRUTH WILL PREVAIL

Opening Theme Lyrics:

It was the first new century
In 100 years
And when I felt like I should cry
I laughed away my tears
The end of a millenium
We waited a long long time
To see the brave new world
And the mountains we would climb
The things I try to comprehend
As a child remained a mystery
There's nothing I need to defend
There's nothing great about me
All that I'll ever believe
Is the pounding of my heart
No it doesn't answer questions
That's just the way it goes
All I will ever have faith in
Is the beating in my chest
It won't predict tommorow
Or give me eternal rest

Ending Theme Lyrics:

It's just my imagination
a sort of empty concentration
while I, fiddle with my fingers
And I take a sip of lukewarm tea
Let's walk lighty to the infectious
Rythem of the cool bossa nova
And myriad puzzle pieces are here for me
that's right, I was in the same place
just last week and I ought to know
the only things changed are my clothes
Step By Step, your in control don't be uptight
Case By Case, go ahead and laugh everything's alright
The other countless days and endless nights
I know she patiently waits just for me
But, I Gotta Go My On Way

Opening Theme 2 Lyrics:

All my love I had and all was cast away,
from me, gone in an instant,
won't forget, I'll focus hard to untangle this mystery,
Knowing you wont suspect a thing.

Remember summer days,
hanging out, our time together,
looking back on those even now, brings tears that won't cease,
you were my true love.

Just please have faith in me,
I'll bring them back you'll see,
my wounded heart, beats only for you,
and longs to unveil hidden secrets

Simple wounded heart it always longs for you,
and longs to tell you secrets ('even now')

Ending Theme 2 Lyrics:

The night will linger on in tireless bliss
if you just whisper sweet nothings to me all night long
lying in memories suddenly swept away
lost in thought i turned over control
caught up in playful dreams i drift away as
the truth remains staying cool and dry
where will i wander baby where will i go
to ensure i have your love by my side
your near me but can you hear me
as far away as the clouds above me
and ill follow you wherever you go
count on me ill be there
and if you someday figure out i love you
and if you someday finally realize im good for you
and even if we have to work out our problems with harsh words
and if you someday figure out i need you
and if you someday finally realize im good for you
and even if we have to work out our problems with harsh words

CHARACTERS:

Conan Edogawa: After being discovered snooping around the shady business of a pair of criminals, Jimmy Kudo is given an experimental drug that transforms the teen sleuth to childhood size! Luckily Jimmy retained his intelligence and panache for solving the most difficult of crimes. Not wanting to reveal his true identity, Jimmy adopts the name Conan in honor of the creator of his hero, Sherlock Holmes. As Conan this pint sized detective is able to gather clues that the police and Detective Richard Moore, the bumbling P.I. Conan lives with, are unable to see. Although Conan takes great pleasure in solving crimes, he yearns to uncover the clues behind the "Men in Black Coats" that forced him to take the experimental drug that forever changed his life.

Jimmy Kudo: Jimmy Kudo is widely regarded as one of the top detectives in the land..and he is only in high school! The police often solicit his services, albeit sometimes unwillingly, in their efforts to solve difficult cases. Despite his age, Jimmy gets results, and his confidence is clearly evident. Jimmy is a top athlete as well, often relying on his physical abilities to apprehend a crook. His father is a famous writer of detective novels, a fact that is inseparable from his career choice and his choice of personal hero, the one and only Sherlock Holmes. His Japanese name is Shin'ichi Kudo.

Rachel Moore: After Jimmy's mysterious disappearance, the happy go lucky girl decides to help take care of the young stranger, Conan, who claims to be a distant relative of the lost Jimmy. Rachel is fearless in the face of danger and always willing to lend a helping hand in the detective work of her father, Richard. She keeps a close eye on Conan in the hopes of keeping him out of trouble and because she sees many of Jimmy's traits in the young boy. Just as with Jimmy, Rachel is never shy about putting Conan in his place because of his age as well as scolding her father for his lazy habits. She is also a student of martial arts, a skill that helps keep her out of many jams. Plus, she is always trying to get her parents back together. Her Japanese name is Ran Mouri.

Richard Moore: Richard Moore was one of the many unfortunate detectives lost in the shuffle due to Jimmy's unparalleled success as a crime-solver. But perhaps no one has profited more from Jimmy's disappearance than Richard. With Conan tagging along Richard's services are regularly called upon in the most difficult and high profile criminal investigations. And because Conan is not taken seriously because of his being a child, Richard gets the credit for solving the cases. Richard is quick to jump to conclusions, a trait that seems to go against being a top-notch detective. However, Richard is an experienced detective. He just somehow can't seem to uncover the final piece of the puzzle. His Japanese name is Kogoro Mouri.

Dr. Agasa: Jimmy's neighbor, Dr. Agasa is a kind old scientist and inventor who often has his top secret experiments blow up in his face. After he convinces Conan to keep quiet about his bizarre situation so that the Black Organization thinks he's dead, Agasa agrees to invent various devices that will help Conan solve crimes and hopefully apprehend the mysterious men who caused his unfortunate transformation. Although scatter brained, Dr. Agasa is kind, helpful, and sincere. The only question is whether or not he will be able to keep Conan's secret.

Inspector Meguire: One of the Chief Inspectors of the police department, Meguire is often called upon to conduct the investigations of the various crimes committed around the city. He often relied upon Jimmy's help in the past, but ironically considers many of Conan's suggestions to be the ramblings of an overactive imagination. However, Meguire is a very competent officer, often uncovering clues that Conan and Richard miss.

Amy: Amy is the wide-eyed young lady who pals around with Conan and the Junior Detective League. She feels a strange connection to Conan and feels they are destined to be together, much to the discomfort and surprise of the out of place high-schooler. Despite her fragile appearance Amy is not afraid to investigate the most dangerous mysteries, but her bravery tends to fade when all hope seems lost. Her Japanese name is Ayumi.

George: Perhaps the only thing bigger than George's self confidence is his enormous appetite. Always bold in the face of danger especially if Amy is threatened...George will never hesitate to help a friend in need. After all he is, according to himself, their best chance of survival. George is loud-mouthed and confident, and the self-proclaimed leader of the Junior Detective League.

Mitch: Like George, the brainy Mitch feels very deeply about Amy and would stop at nothing to protect her. Mitch likes to look at things rationally and scientifically, something that he feels is very important in becoming a top detective. He often solves cases using the simplest of reason, he usually ends up being wrong.

Inspector Worthington: An officer under Meguire's command. Used in several episodes. First appeared in the episode "Festival Fiasco" where he helped Conan and Richard solve a murder. He seems like a skinny version of officer Ninzaburo. One of the only officers known not to have a crush on Officer Sato. His japanese name is Yokomizo Masafuni.

Serena Sebastian: Serena is one of Rachel's best friends and the second daughter of a wealthy and powerful businessman. Serena is spoiled and loves to chase cute boys, but she is good-hearted and a very loyal friend to Rachel. Conan sometimes uses Serena to solve cases when Richard isn't around as she, like Richard, is vain enough not to question her subconscious deductions. Her first appearance was in "Tragic Valentine".

Eva Kadan: Rachel's mom and a very intelligent lawyer. She isn't divorced with Richard, she just doesn't live with him. She plays a major part in several episodes and movies. It seems that whether or not she will get back with Richard has been an on and off question. Probably not since Richard happens to be easily attracted to famous/good looking females (for example, the model/singer Yoko Okino). She first appears in the episode "Murder At The Local Diner".

Ai Haibara: Used to be a woman named Sherry that used to work for the Black Organization but much like Conan she took the APTX-4869 pill after the Black Organization hancuffed her to a pipe while she was trying to rescue her sister from their evil clutches. She took the pill thinking it would kill her but instead it shrunk her and she slipped out of the handcuffs. So, it might as well be that she's in serious danger if the members of the Black Organization ever come lurking around. So Dr. Agasa also advised her to keep her identity a secret.

Kaito Kid: His real name is Kaito Kurudo. A genius theif who is also a worthy rival and enemy of Jimmy. I guess it shouldn't be that much of a surprise since he looks almost identical to Jimmy. He loves to steal things that are hard to get (especially jewelry) and doesn't mind in dwelling into risky adventures along the way. Will he ever get caught by Conan? We may never know. He became the 2nd Kaito Kid after he defeated the original.

Harley Hartwell: Known as the Great Western Detective and The Kudo of the West, Harley is to the West what Jimmy is to the East. He is also a successful and intelligent detective. He is one year older than Jimmy. A very worthy rival of Jimmy who figures out about the Jimmy/Conan identity. At least it was kind of him to keep it under wraps. He tells Jimmy to look out for Gin and Vokda because they are interested in him. He has a an attitude and can not stand it when he's wrong. He eventually befriends Conan and the two teamwork together to solve mysteries. He makes his first appearance in
"No Immunity For The Diplomat". His japanese name is Heiji Hattori.

Kazuha Toyama: Kazuha is Heiji's girlfriend. Since, of course, Heiji befriends Conan, Kazuha is, likewise, friends with Rachel. She helps the gang solve some crimes.

Makato Kyogoku: Known as The Prince of Kicks Makoto is a strong martial artist who looks a lot like Heiji. He also seems to flirt with Serena a lot. Even though the two don't have much to say to each other. He also helps the gang solve many mysteries.

Booker Kudo: He's the father of Jimmy/Conan. His career is writing detective stories. He apparently does such a good job of this that women will crowd around him whenever he's in public (making his wife Vivian jealous - that's the price you pay for being famous). He also seems to cause a lot of unprecedented surprises in several of the mysterious (especially at the climax). First appears in "Conan Is Kidnapped" where he is dressed as one of his creations "Night Baron".

Vivian Kudo: Jimmy/Conan's mother. She moved to Los Angeles with Booker so that he can write detective stories in the US and become famous. She often gets jealous when women crowd around Booker. First appears in "Conan Is Kidnapped".

Gin: One of the evil members of the Black Organization. His real name is Kaspar. He was directly responsible for hitting Jimmy with a pipe and then shrinking him into a kid with the APTX-4869 pill. He thought the pill would kill him and not show up in the autopsy. He is left-handed.

Vodka: One of the evil members of the Black Organization. His real name is Melkor. He was there when Gin shrunk Jimmy to Conan. Vodka was the one that suggested shooting Jimmy in the first place (which probably would have ended their troubles once and for all). He is Kaspar's brother.

Miwako Sato: An female officer whose kicks and punches are something that criminals need to watch out for. On top of that, she's much smarter than the average officer. She apparently is hot, otherwise why do you have the whole police force panicked whenever she's in trouble?

Wataru Takagi: Takagi is just an ordinary officer under Meguire's command. He's not smart or dumb, just your plain decent citizen. He helps Conan in a lot of the crimes. It seems he has a crush on his co-officer Sato.

Ninzaburo Shiratori: A police officer who appears in several episodes. He's not shabby when it comes to solving crimes. His affections for Officer Sato cause some tension between him and officer Takagi.

Yumi: Yumi is a traffic officer who is friends with Officer Sato, and she is aware about Takagi's feelings for Sato.

Jodie Saintemillion: Jodie is the new English teacher for Rachel and Serena's class. But she's not any ordinary being, as she seems to have some link to the Black Organization. Is she good or bad?

AGASA'S GADGETS:

Bow Tie Voice Transmittter: With this fashionable gadget, Conan is able to imitate just about any voice he can imagine by changing the frequency on his bow tie. This serves him well in situations where the authorities may not be looking for the opinion of a child.

Listening Lenses: Via a small communicator, Conan can listen in to a conversation without the danger of being caught. He simply plants a small device near the person he wishes to hear. The transmitter sends their voice to the frames on his glasses allowing him to get the inside scoop without putting himself in danger of being caught.

Homing Glasses: Whenever Conan needs to track a suspect, his Homing Glasses are just the ticket. Much like his Listening Lenses, these special glasses also come with a small tracking device. The device relays a suspect's exact location straight to the lenses on his glasses.

Super Sneakers: These shoes stimulate the muscles in Conan's feet enhancing his ability to kick an object with extreme force and accuracy. Conan uses this ability to subdue criminals without causing them serious harm.

Wrist Watch Stun Gun: Conan's special wrist watch can shoot out a small dart loaded with a mild sedative. Any person hit with the dart enjoys a comfortable little nap. Conan often uses his watch to knock out Richard, then uses his special bow tie to simulate Richard's voice.

Strechy Suspenders: Conan's special suspenders are able to expand and retract with only the press of a button. They may not seem like much to the naked eye, but these suspenders come in handy more times than a criminal might wish to believe.

Junior Detective League Communicator: Each of the members of the Junior Detective League use these modified walkie-talkies to stay in touch. They were given to Conan, George, Mitch, and Amy as a gift from the kind Dr. Agasa.

Solar Powered Skateboard: The rays of the sun power Conan's skateboard. In the daylight hours, Conan's speed and agility on this special board are unrivaled even by professional skateboarders. But no matter how awesome the skateboard is during the day, one thing is for sure...it's nothing but an ordinary board once the sun goes down!

Lunch Box/Fax Machine/Phone: Conan uses it to pose as Jimmy while hiding in a room, he calls a person and helps solve a case. He uses the fax machine to recieve details of the case.
