Deal or No Deal (AUS)First Aired in 2003 Deal or No Deal originally started off as a one hour series on a Sunday night at 7.30pm, but this year was changed to make it simpler and converted to a half hour series. Has done well at 5.30pm. Knocked rival show Price is Right back to 5.00pm and gotten rid of new half hour 'Millionaire' as well (completely changed Channel Nine's afternoon game show times). Deal or No Deal is a game of luck and is hard to follow, try and see if you will understand it by the following instructions - There are 6 Blocks of Areas for Audience/Contestants to be seated in and at random, a singular block of audience/contestants are able to win up to $200,000. Once a block of 25 people are chosen, again at random, another person from the other 5 Blocks is chosen at random to join the other 25 contestants at winning the money. Now, there are 26 people, and they are asked 3 questions by Host Andrew O'Keefe. The person who answered them all correctly and in the fastest time, gets the chance to win the $200,000. This lucky contestant has to chose which briefcase (either number 1-26) they would like to play with. The remaining 25 briefcases are distributed to the remaining 25 unlucky contestants to hold. Host Andrew O'Keefe gives to contestant amounts of money ranging from $0.50 - $200,000 on the board. They must chose which briefcases have not got the $200,000, (as said above, hoping the cases they have chosen to hold on to is the $200,000)eliminating the smaller amounts. First, the contestant has 6 goes at eliminating amounts off the board and once finished, gets offered an amount of money from the bank. Then question is asked: Deal or No Deal. They may chose to play on and second have to eliminate 5 off the board, the question is asked after the contestant is offered an amount of money from the bank. If declined and play, they must eliminate 4 amounts off the board, still hoping not to get rid of large amounts. The 3 amounts must be taken off the board, then 2, then finally one at a time. Whatever the contestant is left with at the end of the game (even if the $200,000 did go off) then they are left with the amount in their briefcase or deal from the bank.
