Little Mermaid, TheFirst Aired in 1992 The Little Mermaid is probably one of Disney's greatest shows. In 1989 The Little Mermaid movie came out, and it was selling great on the 1st week. Then in 1992 disney decided to make a series out of The Little Mermaid. They wanted to show fans what life was like for Ariel before the movie. The show was a big sucess and had 3 seasons. Finally by the year 2000 disney gave The Little Mermaid a sequel called The Little Mermaid 2: Return To The Sea. The movie finale revolved around Ariel's daughter who can't go into the sea because of the threat that Ursula's sister Morgana posesses. In the end peace was finally restored to Ariel's family, and now she and her daughter can live out their lives on the land and sea. Characters Ariel is King Triton's 7th and youngest daughter. She dreams of being part of the human world and collects things from the land. She has adventures with her friends Urchin, Sebastian, Flounder, and Gabriella. She hopes to someday marry Prince Eric and live a life with him. Unfortunately not only is she a mermaid but her father disencourages in this dream and forbids her to go to the land. This makes her bargain a deal with the sea witch Ursula to become a human. She ventures out of the ocean and onto the land and falls in love with Prince Eric. When her bargain is broken Ursula tries to destroy her but all is taken care of in the end as she marries Prince Eric and her father turns her into a human for real. Nine months later after that Ariel has a daughter named Melody. As she, Eric, and her mer-family rejoice over this birth Ursula's sister Morgana comes with a vengeance vowing to kill Melody if she's ever in the sea thus forcing Ariel to keep her child away from the sea. Eric is a prince from the land. Sometimes he imagines seeing a beautiful mermaid out in the sea. One day that mermaid saves his life and he vovs to repay that mermaid by marriage. Unfortunately Ursula uses that in her plans to stop Eric from marrying Ariel but Eric later on kills Ursula and marries Ariel. Nine months later after that his wife Ariel has a daughter named Melody. After her birth Ursula's sister shortly comes and vows to destroy Melody but Eric and Ariel forbid her to go to the sea. Melody is Eric and Ariel's daughter. When she was born Morgana said she'd destroy her if she ever ventured into the sea. Ariel and Eric then decide to build a wall over their home and hide Melody's mermaid heritage from her. 12 years later we find out that Melody is just as exuberant as her mother. She dreams of the sea and collects things from there. On her 12th birthday she has a party and finds a locket that King Triton gave to her when she was born. She confronts her mother and finds out that she's hiding something from her. Fed up with her mother's lies she ventures into the sea. Instead of destroying her Morgana turns her into a mermaid which is part of a much larger plan to take over Triton's kingdom. In the end Morgana is killed and Melody can finally live out her dreams. Urchin is one of Ariel's childhood friends. He used to be a poor thief and stole from the palace but Ariel and Flounder dealt with him and after the whole thing was resolved they soon became fast friends. Urchin soon developed a crush on Ariel and never wanted her to leave the sea, but they both decided to stay friends. Gabriella is another one of Ariel's childhood friends. She is deaf and has an octopus friend named Alan who translated her sign language. She dreams to someone day be able to speak and express herself like Ariel does whenever she sings. King Triton is the King of the ocean. He had 7 children with his wife but she unfortunately died. He promised her that he'd raise the 7 girls properly. Out of all 7 of his daughters he pays the most attention to his youngest daughter, Ariel. Triton hates humans and forbids everyone to stay away from them but Ariel is the most stubborn and she breaks this rule most often. He yells at her the most and because of that she goes off. When Triton finds out about this and that Ursula's behind it he risk his life for Ariel's. Eric then destroys her and Triton realizes how much his daughter loves him and he turns her to human with the power of his trident. Nine months later King Triton turns into a Grandfather as Ariel has her daughter Melody. Triton gives her a locket so she'll never forget that part of her heart belongs to the sea, but Ursula's sister Morgana infere's with this. Ariel then hides Melody from the sea and King Triton hides the locket so that someday Melody will find it. 12 years later in order to stay a mermaid Melody steal's her Grandfather's trident and gives it to Morgana. Triton later on reclaims it and destroys Morgana allowing his family to live in peace. Pearl is Ariel's wildcat cousin. She's a party girl and always tries to get Ariel and her other cousins to party along with her. Pearl's parents are never responsible or protective of her. One day Triton straightens them out and Pearl calms down a bit but still remains a ton of fun. Arista is Triton's 1st and oldest daughter. She and Ariel are very close. Arista is also Melody's aunt. Alana is Triton's 2nd daughter. She is Melody's aunt. Aquata is Triton's 3rd daughter. She is Melody's aunt. Adella is Triton's 4th daughter. She is Melody's aunt. Attina is Triton's 5th daughter. She is Melody's aunt. Andrina is Triton's 6th daughter. She is Melody's aunt. The Crab Scouts are 3 little crabs that are crab scouts. Sebastian is their leader and they follow his every order to grow up to be good crabs like Sebastian. Flounder is Ariel's best friend. He's a bit of a scardy-cat but he still comes along on Ariel's adventures. They usually always have a good time. Even when Ariel becomes a human they're still best friends. Later after Melody's birth and Morgana's threat they don't see each other for 12 years until Ariel becomes a mermaid again and returns to the sea to find her daughter. She asks for Flounder's help who has now become a father of 6 fishes and is very brave. Sebastian is King Triton's royal assisstant. He helps Triton with whatever he can. He tries to convince Ariel to never go to the land but she disobeys him anyway. Sebastian also follows Ariel around when she human and kinda helped Ariel and Eric fall in love. After Ursula dies he also convinces Triton to turn her into a human forever. Nine month's later after Melody's bith Sebastian is given the responsibility of watching over her. Scuttle is a goofy seagull. When he and Ariel first met she and Flounder were kinda skeptical of him but they learned to trust him. He also knows alot about human objects and tells Ariel the names of them. He may seem dumb but he always comes through when it matters most. Tip is one of Melody's childhood friends. He's a penquin and she meets him shortly after she becomes a mermaid. He and his sidekick Dash are always looking for adventure and dream of becoming heros. Dash is another one of Melody's childhood friends. He is a walrus and Tip's sidekick. They dream of becoming great heros someday. Manta Ray is an evil manta. Ariel and Flounder accidently released him from his prison. After that he tried to turn the people of Atlantica against each other but he failed. He tried many evil schemes aftrewards but also failed. He tried to make his son evil like him but he likes to be good. He hates this but after almost losing his son he becomes good too. Little Manta Ray is the evil manta's son. He tried to be evil like his father but failed because he became friends with Ariel. He likes being good but his father hates it but in the end he makes his father realizes the advantages of being good. The Lobster Mobster Squad are two bad lobster criminals. They met Urchin first and tried to make him a criminal to until Ariel straightened Urchin out. They could care less about taking over Triton's kingdom. All they like to do is steal. Moree Eel is a sleazy eel. He works for the evil manta and sells fake items to people to make a profit. His favorite customers are Ariel and her friends. The Sharkanians are an evil race of sharks. They like to cause chaos to any sea creature who visits their part of the sea. Ursula is an evil sea witch. She wants to rule Triton's kingdom. She'll do anything for it and often thinks up many ways and spells to do it but they all fail. Her greatest plan was when she used Ariel wish to become human to trick Triton into trading his life for Ariel's. She actually gained his crown and trident after that, and she was very close to becoming queen of the sea until Prince Eric killed her. Morgana is an evil sea witch. She was always second best to her sister Ursula and her mother likes Ursula much better than her. Morgana's spells aren't exactly as great as her sister Ursula but she has a bottle filled with Ursula's magic. She tried to killed Melody at birth to avenge her sister Ursula and gain King Triton's kingdom, but thanks to Ariel she failed. After that she vowed that if Melody ever ventured into the sea she would destroy her. 12 years later Melody ran away from home to find out about her locket and Morgana used that to her advantage. She told Melody that the locket meant that her destiny was to be a mermaid and using Ursula's magic she turned Melody into a mermaid. After that she tricked Melody into stealing Triton's trident. With that in her posession she thought she had won and finally done something her sister Ursula couldn't until Melody retrieved the trident from her and gave it to King Triton.
