Lottery!

First Aired in 1983

Each week Flaherty tracks down a lucky winners of the Intersweep lottery.

Eric Rush of the IRS tags along to make sure that Uncle Sam gets his share.

Eric: If we're gonna work together. We're gonna have to learn a little give and take.
Patrick: Certainly. I give. ...
Eric: Oh, and a, I take.

The stories center around the ordinary people who have all of a sudden become millionaires and how it changes their life.

Each week, several guest stars become instant millionaires (in two or three different stories) when their lottery tickets, if they haven't lost them, bring them fame, fortune and sometimes trouble.

Ben Murphy's character worked for Ireland's Intersweep Lottery and it was his job to find the winner and give him or her an envelope containing $5,000 in cash and a check worth millions.

Marshal Colt's character was the IRS man along to make sure everything added up.

Theme song: "Turn of the Cards"
(Music & Lyrics by James P. Dunne and J. Elizabeth Bradley - Sung by Alan Graham)

"Used to think my life was just a space in time,
Lady luck had turned her head and past me by.
Then, without warning I got another dance,
Fortune sent me to your door,
You brought a second chance.

Just a turn of the cards, just a roll of the dice,
I opened my eyes and I'm dancing in time.
Who could have believed that the world would be mine.

Just a turn of the cards, just a roll of the dice,
I opened my eyes and I'm dancing in time.
Who could have believed that the world would be mine. "
