My Dad's A Boring NerdFirst Aired in 1997 Thirteen-year-old Kevin Burton ("Anthony Lewis>Anthony Lewis") is a compulsive daydreamer whose exciting flights of fantasy seem to be a reaction to his embarrassment at having a colossally boring dad. Mr. Burton ("David Bamber") is a British Safety Standards officer totally obsessed with accidents and their causes, a man whose only line of conversation concerns the everyday dangers that people face, a man who feels that cutlery is too dangerous to have in the home. Not suprisingly, Kevin's embarrassment is also shared by his mother ("Michelle Holmes") and his big sister Sophie ("Julia Haworth"), and the siblings have made a pact not to allow any of their friends to meet their father in case word gets out at school about his spectacularly tedious nature. But a timing slip-up results in Kevin's school-friend Brian being in the house when Kevin's dad returns home from work, and, indeed, Brian learns of Mr. Burton's supefying dullness.
