Beck: Mongolian Chop SquadFirst Aired in 2004 Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad is the story of a fourteen year old boy named Yukio Tanaka, nicknamed Koyuki. Feeling out of place in his second year of middle school, Koyuki runs into an old friend from grammar school named Izumi, age fifteen. After their reunion Izumi starts to hang out with Koyuki again, and introduces him to music other then pop music. While daydreaming on the street one day, Koyuki sees some kids picking on a weird dog named Beck. Koyuki tells the kids to go away as Beck's owner Ruusuke, age sixteen, shows up to get his dog. Grateful that Koyuki helped his dog, Ruusuke invites Koyuki to see his band perform at a live. Later that week Izumi and Koyuki go to the live together to see Serial Mamas (the band Ruusuke in) last performance. After the live Koyuki wants to learn more about rock music having been inspired by Ruusuke's band. Meanwhile, with Serial Mama broken up Ruusuke decides to make his own band and wants it to be the best band there is. Thrown into the world of rock, Koyuki has the chance to see a band formed right before his very eyes.
