Space Patrol

The Space Patrol provides security for the solar system c. A.D. 3000. Operating from a terra-formed planet named Terra, the Space Patrol is lead by Commander Buzz Cory. Commander Cory and his crew fight against supercriminals threatening the peace of the solar system. Space Patrol began as a 15 minute program on a local Los Angels station (KECA) on the 9th of March 1950 and continued 5 days a week until 1953. These were live action programs and there were about 800 episodes. ABC picked up the program in September of 1950 and it ran until February 1955, airing 210-30 minute episodes. The show ran in syndication on 35mm kinescope by Comet Productions from 1957 to 1959. The 15 minute episodes also became available on 16mm kinescope to ABC affiliates. In addition, the cast also did a 30 minute weekly radio broadcast on the ABC radio network from 1950 through 1955.
