Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, The

First Aired in 1967

Six seven-minute cartoons were rotated during each broadcast. Two episodes each of Superman and Aquaman were shown, along with two episodes of "Superboy" (from The Adventures of Superboy), which alternated with the "Guest Star" cartoons.

Although this show is titled the Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure, in fact it is for the most part a compilation of already aired episodes from The New Adventures of Superman (its second season) and Aquaman. To fill out the hour, Filmation created 18 new 7-minute cartoons featuring The Atom, The Flash & Kid Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, The Justice League of America, and Teen Titans.

Only the "Guest Star" cartoon episodes are listed here - check the shows above for more info on the other cartoons. Also included in the mix were eight already-aired episodes from The Adventures of Superboy.

One year after the debut of his Saturday morning series, Superman, the Man of Steel, returned to CBS in this hour-long fantasy/adventure series, which is technically considered the second season of The New Adventures of Superman.

In that series, Aquaman, King of the Seven Seas, his teen-aged sidekick Aqualad, Mera (who is incorrectly referred to as an "Atlantean girl" in the series), and Aqualad's pet walrus, Tusky. Also featured are the Aqua-duo's sea horses, Storm and Imp.

Justice League

One of the "guest star" cartoons, the team featured here was the Atom, Green Lantern, the Flash, Hawkman, and Superman.

Barry Allen from the comic, although in two of the episodes his sidekick Kid Flash (wearing a red costume) aided him.

Carter Hall, the Winged Warrior, the Pinioned Paladin, from the planet Thanagar. In this series he fougth with his pet bird Skree at his side.

Green Lantern

Hal Jordan, using the power ring given him by the Guardians of the Galaxy, fought galactic evil with the aid of his blue-skinned pointed-eared sidekick Kyro.

The Atom

Scientist Ray Palmer used a costume made of white dwarf material to alter his size and weight and fight alien invaders and criminals.

The Teen Titans

The team of sidekicks Kid Flash, Wonder Girl, Speedy, and Aqualad fought criminals and alien invaders.
