Tiny Planets

First Aired in 2004

Welcome to the enchanting universe of Tiny Planets, a delightful fantasy that brings to you the hilarious adventures of two small furry and very loveable characters, Bing and Bong. Bing is wise and sensible and loves a challenge. Bong is friendly and playful and always having fun. They are best friends and set out each day on a new adventure across their tiny universe to one of their special planets of discovery - Light and Colour, Sound, Technology, Self, and Nature.

Each episode follows the duo on a single journey made from their furry white sofa which is launched from and tethered to their home planet. Along the way they meeting many unusual friends and figure out all kinds of important stuff - all before returning back home to bed and a well-deserved night’s sleep.

The series is designed to stimulate a sense of curiosity about how things work, and encourages young children to make observations and test ideas as they play. Tiny Planets engages children's imaginations and motivates them to explore their own universe with a sense of wonder, fun and confidence.

The Tiny Planets concept was initially created in 2000 by the late Nina Elias Bamberger at Sesame Workshop (who developed Dragon Tales and other children's shows for them as well) to be shown on PBS in the United States. It never aired there and instead was run in the UK (as a joint production of Pepper's Ghost). The original episodes were 5-minute snippets that aired between longer children's shows. The show did eventually make its way to US television on NOGGIN, initially using the same between-show format and then ultimate as a 4-episode half-hour collection. This episode guide lists the shows as they appeared in collected format on NOGGIN.
