Vacant Lot, The

First Aired in 1993

The Vacant Lot was a comedy sketch show along the lines of Kids in the Hall (coincidentally, VLer Nick McKinney is the look-alike brother of KITHer Mark McKinney) which ran for six episodes on CBC back in 1994. Although the show was originally picked up for another 13 episodes, CBC later changed their mind and decided to take a more family oriented route, so the remaining 13 episodes, although scripted, were never taped.

The very first episode of The Vacant Lot was shown on CBC in December of 1993, then when January came the other 5 episodes were shown. That is when CBC sold the show to Comedy Central for them to air it, Comedy Central didn't air the episodes for several months then in July 1994 the episodes were shown for a 4th of July marathon...The episodes cannot be seen anywhere today unless you have them on tape.

The show also had an extensive soundtrack including the songs Kneeslap, Slept In His Arms, Pamper Me and This Song Is Gonna Make A Good Video. Those songs can be found in various areas, Kneeslap can be found on Steakandcheese.com and the other songs can be found in the Links section of this show.
