Maggie is a quirky legal secretary, wannabe writer, and the mother of a smart and witty 10 yr old girl, Jane. They have a new neighbor, David who moves to L.A. from N.Y. to be a professor at UCLA. At first he thinks Maggie is a little odd, until he realizes what a wonderful person she is, through her sense of humor and kindness to her neighbors.
